Tyler Cotton's "Country-Fried": Incubator Project 2024

Another Film in Post for the Cleveland Indie Film Project 2024!

Country-Fried by Tyler Cotton

Nearly all short films are in post-production for the Cleveland Indie Film Incubator Project! One of those films is, Country-Fried, directed by Incubator participant Tyler Cotton! We asked Cotton to talk about his experience on set and plans amidst the post-production process! Read more below.

Logline

Husband and wife real estate scam artists try to hustle deep country marijuana farmers who don’t trust the tricksters and instead strike a mortal deal.

Meet Tyler Cotton! Director of "Country-Fried"

CCR: What was your favorite part about being on set and leading the production of "Country-Fried?"

Cotton: The film was successful, exciting, super chaotic---I am still recovering.  The wrap party was the best part---everything else was a kaleidoscope blur.

CCR: Were there any challenges you faced on set? How did you overcome them?

Cotton: We had to change vehicles the day before filming because the actors could not drive three speed Jeep (that was painful). We ended up renting a POS convertible car and blew out the front tire out when it ran over the porcelain doll head in the scene—POW! It also rained the whole time from Hurricane Helene and soaked the topless car with actors —the entire time.

CCR: Now that production is complete, what are you looking forward to most in the post-production process?

Cotton: Post-production feels like another cluster-**** coming at me…there is no escaping (lol).

CCR: Anything else you'd like to share about the process or shooting weekend?

Cotton: In conclusion, my experience making a short movie…hmmm: I learned that in order to create an award-winning film, one must go to war with the universe. It's a constant battle of mind-blowing challenges, an endless maze of extreme, stumbling, bumbling, expensive challenges—and it doesn’t seem to ever stop. Let’s do it again!
